This Christmas was one of those Christmases we got to go to my family's for the holidays this year and I loved it because it means it's cold, it snows, there's more family around, and its just more festive. Plus the fact that Christmas is my favorite time of year. It's my favorite holiday. Not because of the presents, although they don't hurt. ;) It's just the overall atmosphere- the dressed up table, and the tree, and the decorations, and the Christmas music, and the entertaining, and the lightheartedness of the moods that change in people this time of year. They all become so nice and/ or nicER. Its like why can't they be like this ALL the time? I just love this time of year.and I LOVE love being around my family. Then there's the food.OH! Maybe it's because my dad is SUCH an awesome cook and my Mom is such an awesome baker that the two of them combined should have gone into business together and become something? I donno. The food is just heavenly. I love whatever comes out of their creations. Except lima beans BLECH! and -and mustard & saurkraut- I know I know- what kind of German am I that doesnt like those things? I got faulty taste buds what can I tell ya? Everything else I loved! Anyway, We had a beautiful white Christmas at Dads house with Mom, Dad, me, Tom, Doug and Thomas. Thomas TOTALLY made out by Santa with Dinosaurs, and Tonka trucks, a handmade puzzle stool ,matchbox cars like crazy, and a Geo Trax train set- the boy MADE OUT! I think after a while he got tired of opening presents if thats at all possible! He just wanted to play! But the toys kept comin! Next year I think we'll cut it back a bit - {yeah right -we'll see when that happens next year..!} He's worth every penny though- he's a good kid. He was a good boy this year- minded his manners did what he was told.- he deserved it. Merry Christmas Monkey. We Love you!

Happy Thanksgiving
It seems soo Long a wait, but I FINALLY got to see my family for the holidays! We got to see them for Thanksgiving at Eddie and Stephanie's house. That was fun! everyone was there. Debbie, Sean, Eddie Stephanie, the kids. { of course- it was THEIR house} ! Mom, Dad, it was soo nice having everyone together at ONE table. we were all cramped, but I wouldn't have had it any other way! There were like 5 different pies, and like 6 different side dishes ,plus the turkey and things to go with it, everyone was just comotosed afterward and watched Ice Age the movie- Doug and the kids anyway to let the trtophan kick in and just mellow out while the adults drank theirt wine and laughe dand talked about everyone and the good old dayds and made fun of everyone one when they were kids and me no matter how old I am - they just love to pick on me for some reason! Bulldozer they call me cause i love to eat and dont gain a pound . Thomas had a ball with Maddie and Max - He had someone to play with which was nice- he doesnt get to see his cousins very often and when he does , its nice they can get along so nice. I just wish we lived closer so he could see thenmm when everhe wanted. Tom and I get in an argument when ever I leave my family because I get so homesick because I love thenm so much and he could give a rats ass about his. he just doesnt get the strong bond that i have for my family. ahh well.Ill just keep trying till i die thats all. or till I win the lotterry then ill move there with out him if thats what it takes. Until then It was a wonderful Thanksgiving and I look forward to many more like it.

Trick Or Treat!
This Halloween There weren't many people paricipating in handing out candy as much as last year- {the scrooges!} where's their sense of spirit of the holidays? it times like this that I cannot WAIT to move out of this Apartment complex! you have to hang a piece of paper on your door to tell trick or treaters whether you're handing out treats or not- an orange cat if you are or a black witch if youre not-so Thomas and I went trick or treating together and you know how hard it is lugging a twoyear old up three flights of stairs only to see numerous sets of black witches everywhere? it doesn't get fun after a while! He starts to get heavy and starts to whine after a while.. Luckily the local mall has a thing where they open their shops to trick or treaters after 6 pm and hand out treats to trick or treaters- so the all the kids go there in a safe atmosphere and all the parents have to do is wheel their kids in their costumes in their strollers to each store and say trick or treat, and their kids cash in! then they go home, and everyones happy! and no whining involved - most of the time you seee thekids crashed out in the strollers and happy parents . everyones happy. so thats what we did- It was a bit chilly for trick or treating anyway, plus the fact that its all highways here too- wheres a kid gonna GO trick or treating? fairfax county parkway? anyway, it all turned out to be a nice night, and Thomas scored some nice treats- couldnt eat the majority of them, but thats ok- we'll help him out in that department;) Trick or Treat!

Moving
Today was going to be one of the last times we got to play at Sophia and Alex's house. In A coupledays they were going to be moving to England.Although Thomas had just met Sophia in March, She needed to move away, as her Dad's job was the kind of job that moved around and shipped him wherever they needed him. Sometimeds it was the States, sometimes it needed to be overseas. I'm going to miss JoAnn, and Richard, and Sophia and Sweet Alex, but we promised to keep in touch and send pictures of our kids as they grow and write and keep tabs on how theyre doing. thatt's just how the world turns- you can't stay in one place forever I guess. I'm sure we'll move out of this Apartment too . { I hope!} I don't want to raise Thomas in an apartment- I would love for him to live in a house with a backyard, and a dog oneday, on a street packed with kids his own age like I did where i grew up where i went home only when the streetlights came on, {pshhya! like we live in THAT kind ogf society anymore thanks to the raving pshychopaths and loonys now! } they destroyed it for our kids! anyway, Im gonna miss themand hopwe they do well wherever they hang their hats . I'm sure Thomas will Miss Sophia too- I've tried talking to him about it, but he just doesnt understand- he just thinks shes sleeping over grandmas and coming back. :) Ahh the innocence of a child.. This is gonna take a bit. God I love himm...

Splish Splash!
There's nothing like gettin' clean and shootin' some hoops and making wacky hairstyles while having some fun in the tub ! Ahh to be a kid again and to be able to splash and play in the tub again! And make up wacky storylines as you go along and sing at the top of your lungs to lines of songs you have no idea how the words go- {You know you do that now- and would just DIE if you got caught!};) Such is the life of a two year old- I LOVE to hear him play in the tub- it just cracks me up! He loves to splish and splash and play with his little squirt toys, He's just hilarious ! Ahh to be two again!

Thomas The Train
Saturday we went on a fun trip Upstate In the Catskill mountains on the Delaware Ulster Railride to Hangout with no other that Thomas The Train! Since Thomas is really into watching him on tv. and playing with the cars, and watching him on DVD all the time, I decided to get tickets and let him take a ride on him on the railroad up near my dad and get to visit dad. well things didn't go quite as planned , because Thomas didn't realize just how BIG Thomas the Train REALLY was! He was sort of overwhelmed you might say , and the WHOLE time just wanted to go home! I kept saying, "tell me WHY again why I bought these tickets?" but we muddled through it, and took a ride on Thomas' car, got some souveniers, some Ice Cream, even A Thomas ball, - That cheered him up some- {sure for 15 dollars- took the smile off us and onto him! } highway robbery ! whatever to make his day-can you say Spoiled? LOl Well we got to meet SIr Topham Hat,and have a day of it anyway- I Had funat least - why is I feel I seem to do these things for me and not my kids? Oh well maybe I jumped the gun and shoulda waited a couple more years when he could apppreciate it more- lesson learned. It was still fun and I got to see my family again while I was here.

Country 4Th of July
This year we went to Dad's for 4th of July for a 4th of July carnival and celebration at the hospital they were having. I learned they actually have it every year, but this year we actually got to attend it. There was a carnival behind the A&P, Fireworks By the Hospital { conveinient in case anyone blew any fingers off they didn't have far to go! } A street fair for crafts and goodies and homemade stuff and a church BBQ[ we knew where to find Tom by the way- He LOVES homemade BBQ! } Especially country BBQ- he made a beeline for that and stayed there!LOL we said see ya later and went off to do our thing! LOL Then later went up to dads house and had dinner at his house {MORE marvelous cooking } and went to the carnival later for some rides on the slide, and rides for the kiddies, some cotton candy, and water games, just an all out fun time. Then at 9:00 was the fireworks on the hill of the hospital. Great day. The kids passed out afterward from the country air. I love love going to dads. Gimme a reason or no reason at all and I'm there. I just have a blast everytime I go. Its just so beautiful and peaceful. I could live up there no problem. And Thomas gets along with his cousins Max N Maddie like a dream.

Day At Disney MGM
We got to visit Grandma's house and Aunt Sharon's house and go to MGM Studios At Disney World - What a treat! I don't recall seeing a little boy more in awe than this past couple weeks! First we started off At Aunt Sharon's house with a barbecue, and a dip in her pool and playinfg with her 5 SHiba Inu dogs and Akita Gateway. Those dogs are a trip! Thomas was a little afraid of first but Gateway showed her bark is ALOT worse than her Kiss! LOL Thoma shas a blast jumping from the hot tub into the pool all day and swimming with his swimmies al around the pool and finshing it oof with a nice sloppy ice pop ! Then a couple days later we were off to MGM studios with Grandma, Daddy, Aunt Sharon And Uncle Mike. We caught the Bear in the big Blue House show { or Playhouse Disney Stage show},Honey we shrunk the kids park, checked out all the disney charachters dressed up and took in the disney parade, and of course Got a picture in with the Mouse himself! So I would say it was a day to remember! By the time the day was over Thomas had HAD it! he was down for the count on the way home and we had some great memories to take home with us until next time!
