Strawberries & Cream

Tonight Brendan discovered the fun of strawberries and cream. While I was out picking up Thomas from his friend Eric's house down the street, Tom decided to give Brendan some Strawberries and whip cream. He didn't eat the strawberries he said, just was delighted to play and squish the whip cream around his high chair tray.Tom took the pics as he was playing, {I should have took some after pics, to really show what the after effects were but ah well, I'm sure there'll be more times to come!} When I got back, what a mess! I was like, "what happened to you?!!!" He was in his glory though I tell you! So when he was done squishing and swirlin', I wiped him down, and cleaned him up, and we had dinner, then it was off to the tub for some splishing and splashing for some good clean fun! Like I said, boys, gotta love 'em, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

And So It Starts

I guess it's funny how history repeats itself, but or how time has a way of coming full circle, however you want to put it, but the day has finally came that Brendan has started to become a little "boy". Just as Thomas had done at his age {almost exactly if I remember Thomas maybe half a year older I think} even to the SAME EXACT PLANT! there's something about the allure of a fake plant that little fingers just HAVE to play around with! So there I was doing dishes, and letting Brendan crawl around and get some practice in standing up and all, and he crawled over to the balloons I scattered on the floor that were leftover from Thomas' birthday party for him to play with and he crawled over to my fake ficus plant { I THINK that's what it is !} anyway and proceeds to pull the moss from the planter just as Thomas did 3 years ago back in Virginia! I was like What are you doing young man??! I lightly tapped his hand and sternly said No. We don't pull that from there and he just burst into tears at being yelled at. OK now I feel like a mean monster mommy at making those sweet blue eyes cry. :( but hey, rules have to be made. He got over it quick and I documented his first felony. What is it about that plant that these guys BOTH find that they have to pick it bald? I put the stuff back in the pot and carried on with my life. *sigh* Boys will be boys I guess. I hear it gets worse. So far all is good . Maybe I got off lucky, maybe the worst is yet to come. anyway,Here's the start of my lil blue eyed troublemaker..and so it starts.....

Ash Wednesday

Today me and the boys recieved our ashes-{some for the first time.} Brendan was so good in church. It kinda helped that there were quiet toys in the crying room for him to play with so we could listen to the mass.. When I went to pick up Thomas from school later on after Brendan and I went to church in the afternoon, Thomas said, "Mom! what happened??! where'd you get that bruise on your forehead from?! Wa'd you do now?" It was then that I explained to him that I had gotten my ashes in the afternoon with Brendan and he was going to get his at religion that evening. LOL He's too much Always looking out for me.. Too funny! Thomas went and sat with his religion class and recived ashes with them... boy was it crowded! he had to raise his hair in order to recive his ashes - too cute! at first he didn't quite know WHY he had to get ashes, but after explaining he was cool with it. I of course blew my lenten abstinenceright out the window right off the bat by having meat tonight instead of supposed to be having fish !! I'll never get that right!! I got a card on my fridge and STILL screwed up! Ash Wednesday fish and Good Friday, Same goes for Abstinence and Sunday is Obligation.. Oh Easter You're so lucky I like Chocolate ;) I get it right if it kills me!

Happy Birthday Thomas!

Today we celebrated Thomas' 6th birthday at the bowling alley. Boy did he have fun! He invited like practically his entire class, which I thought I was gonna go broke for sure, but hey, they're his friends, and it's his birthday and I asked who he would like to have come to his birthday, and I love him to death, so what more can I say? He's worth it, and from the time he had, I'm glad they all came! At least about 5 0r so didn't show for a couple reasons- 5 just didn't call, two went out of town for President's day weekend, one couldn't make it and one had pink eye, so - the rest showed and good thing too - cause I made just enough goodie bags to go around! ;) The party lasted a couple hours consisting of pizza, drinks, bowling for an hour, cake, open presents, and they even clean up and are at your beckon call the duration of the party! All you do is bring the cake and the birthday boy! How easy of a party is that?No muss no fuss! It was I admit a bit crazy when the kids all first started to arrive and you have finally 12 5 year olds all running around the bowling alley like maniacs waiting for the pizza to be served so they can eat then bowl! I think the parents came just to see myself want to hang myself over the situation I put myself in! LOL but But afterwards they wound down and were actually very well behaved- they were just excited to see their friends and all and to get the party started. The party attendant even commented how well behaved they were when she gave the instructions about the bowling to stay back until it was their turn etc.. that they actually listened and obeyed and things went so smoothly, -she was impressed! She was afraid of such a large party that it was gonna be crazy but commented that it was a pleasure serving them. They were all good kids and it was a pleasure inviting them. We all had a great time and 6 kids or 16, I'd do it again. Happy Birthday Thomas, You deserve it sweetie! As for the presents, He got Bionicles, Power Rangers, Rockem Sockem Robots,-remember those? I think it's a right of passage for every little boy to recieve that when he's young!! Movie pack, And a brand New shiny bicycle from Mom & Dad so he can ride with his friends on the street instead of chasing them! { I never DID kow why he did that ! }6 yrs old..*sigh* My lil monkeys getting older ..where does the time go??

PEEK-A-BOO!!

He Stood!

Today we were playing in Brendan's room, and he crawled over to his learning table and pulled himself up and stood!! I was like that's my boy! and he was so proud of himself too! wigglin his but back and forth - he was so cute! Then he went to clap his hands and fell over and cried - isn't that the case! but oh! I am so glad I go everywhere with my camera! here's some shots!

BOING BOING BOING

There's something about the feeling of going up and down and bouncing and having no control of ones self as they bounce and trounce left and right, forward and back lights and music all aglow and blaring- at least that's how it is here when this little boy gets going in his Jumperoo. one he starts, he doesn't stop - unless he gets so worn out he passes out right there in his seat . { I should snap a pic of that and edit it in } He would make a great tester for Fisher Price I tell You! Great for their ad Campaign- The kids all smiles! {Now ther's an idea for some college money..{hmm}.. no really- Does this kid NOT look like he belongs on a bilboard or something? I just thought it was too funny! He just looked too cute with the poiter like { number one} and all smiles bouncing along and all- was too cute! Hes something else! He's another one that makes me wish I was a lil' kid again with these cool toys and all wishing I could have a crack at these just for fun! You know you have those moments where you do too! admit it! LOL I'm not the only one! These days they come out with the coolest stuff! But I'll be damned if I wanna go through some of the stuff I did again when I was younger and glad I'm an adult! Anyway, I just love watchin him bounce along goin BOING!BOING! BOING! BOING!

The Mind of A Child

I wonder what it would be like to travel into the mind of a child ..I walked into Thomas' room the other day to straighten up, - make his bed, tidy up - get any loose toys off the floor in case Brendan were to crawl in and pop anything into his mouth etc.. and I found this - and began to wonder-what wa going on in his mind- I felt as if I had interrrupted a Bionicle war- Thomas had to run off to school, but before he did , it was if the "Inika's" and "Perakis" I believe they're called were in the middle of a battlewho is who don't ask me but looks like they weren't doing well! ammo looke dike it was in good supply, but ahh, I remember those days, and Ohhh, to be able to travel backand have those days again!! the imagination, the fun,the freedom, to be and have the fun of a child again!

Happy Birthday Honey!

Today is Tom's birthday. Turned 37. I remember when we were 17 together! Where'd the time go?!!- so I ordered him flowers from online and made him a cake- he's the modest type that never wants presents -da da da.. so needless to say he didnt know what to say when flowers showed up at the door for him and I made him a chocolate cake and got him cards from me and the boys and his mom, and made dinner for him. Now he's off to Kansas City tomorrow for business in 13 degree weather from 65 degree weather -burr! Hope he dresses warm! Happy Birthday honey!
