One thing I do have to say about having a new baby in the house is the one thing I learned real quick is when HE sleeps - YOU sleep! Boy can he wear you out! You learn that those precious 8 hour non stop sleeping nights? GONNE! 3 hours sleep then 4 hours up, sleep, then awake off then on, then sleep? whats that? then You and your spouse turn to rock paper scissors of who's turn it is to get up and help the baby!So then when the baby decides he wants a nap, we decide we better take one too while the gettin's good! {again rock paper scissors! }Lordy Lordy wha'd we get ourselves into? I know- just the most sweetest thing on earth that I'd travel to the moon and back for in a heartbeat! That's what! :)

Thomas' First Bath
Aside from getting little wipe downs from baby wipes, today we got our first bath! Oh boy he did not like that!! LOL I got a little Winnie the Pooh toy that cheers Thomas up that he seems to like and likes to touch, so I put it in the little tub we bought to bathe him in-I used the little thermometer-measured not too hot and not too cold, put all my supplies I needed in reach just like a responsible mom should do { actually Tom was there for me to get the stuff because I needed both hands to hold Thomas up and wash him at the same time- {it was in reach , I just couldn't reach out and hold and bathe Thomas at the same time- that would require skills a new mom like myself just didn't have yet to be perfectly honest!}How did it go do you ask? I think he screamed and cried as loud as when he got circumcised! and I heard him all the way down the hall at the hospital!I was like " yup! that's my son!" I tell you one thing, this kid, has got some PIPES!When he opens his mouth to cry? LOOOOKOUT! He just lets it fly!!!And there's no consoling him! He'll just cry and cry you'd think he was being murdered! He does not like water. But he's gotta get clean so we'll just make it a quickie. Then some lotion, and some powder and a dry diapie , and we'll be all good. But my goodness! the fuss he puts up what a first picture this'll make- the puss on his face!LOL! Oh well. It'll make a good story for later on.Maybe he'll grow out of it and learn to like baths. After all- he DID spend 9 MONTHS in liquid no? You think he'd be totally used to it by now....like second nature..ahh well lets see what the future brings..

Welcome Thomas Edward !!
So here I am In the Labor and delivery room, ready to get the show on the road. The nurse asks me if "I would like something to take the edge off'' which anything to stop this constant stabbing and slicing in my back , Hook me up!!Little did I realize that this medication, combined with my seizure meds got me instantly stoned in 10 seconds...then they decided to give me pitocin to speed up the contractions{ I personally felt they were coming along just fine-!}where all my lamaze breathing and classes went right out the window after that- for my contractions came on every ten seconds where I couldn't breath or get any oxygen to my brain after that which probably brought on my furture seizures that i had later on!, I don't remember a thing I felt so stoned! I was like a drunken sailor trying to push according to my husband, I hit on the anesthesiologist and called him sexy,I told my ob thank god you finally showed when she was there for 3 hrs already, I wound up having a seizure on the table, which My O/B says to Tom " what do I do?" he said " what do you mean what do you do?You know she has a seizure disorder,.." I'm sure he wanted to damn near knock her out if she wasn't delivering his first born son! Oh he was upset! They gave me valium, which didnt work, then phenobarbitol, and I finally stopped. They had to try to move the baby over since he wasnt aligned with the birth canal by pushing on my side, then trying vaccuum suction twice since he wasnt all the way down to the birth canal. That popped off twice and showered everyone with blood,{meanwhile im out cold} the baby went into duress and they finally performed a cesarian c- section on me after doin an episiotomy which I was told I sat up and cried "NOO!" to try and make the opening bigger which he never came out of! So I was sliced, Diced, and Thomas Edward was finally born lethargig due to all the drugs in me from pregnancy-due to my seizure condition that I couldn't go off my meds{ I wonder if anyone gave it any thought that the drugs they poured in me during delivery also went through him as well temporarily} and had very poor appetite and needed to go home with a feeding tube down his nose due to poor appetite- he would just barely take two ounces- the Hospital wouldn't send him home unless he took two ounces .-He just barely did- and we could take it from there]. He spent 2 weeks in the NICU while I spent 3 days passed out cold in recovery from all the meds in my system and finally got to see my baby boy when he was 3 days old in the NICU. I am proud to say he is the most beautiful gift of life I have ever laid my eyes on and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! Thank You Lord for blessing me with such a beautiful and healthy little boy!
