Thomas met the swetest little girl at the park today. Her name is Sophia. She has a little brother named Alex. Sohia and Alex live in our Apartment complex where we live, and we met them at the park thats there for the kids to play at. Thomas and Sophia met each other and just seemed to have "clicked" right away- Thomas usually has a hard time making friends because he is so shy.but for some reason he got along really well with this sweet little girl. They played "store" and on the swings, went down the slide together, just had an all out blast together. I bet it won't be long till these two are best friends. Just watching them brings a tear to my eye because its so sweet to watch them play and finally see Thomas have a friend in the community to play with and not stuck at home playing with mom! He finally has someone his own age to play with!

Happy Birthday Thomas!
Thomas is two years old today My little boy is growing up! I feel kinda bad that we didnt have a big party for him since all our relatives are either in New York, or in Florida, and its just Me and Tom and Thomas, But we had a nice quiet party for him anyway. with an ice cream cake, and balloons, and presentssimple and sweet. . In May we're gonna go down to see grandma anyway and go to disney, so that should make up for things... Anyway, Happy Birthday Thomas! I love You Sweetie!

Favorite Jammies
There's something about a child and a favorite pair of jammies. Thomas' just happen to be his "star and the cloud and the moon jammies" He won't want to be put in any other ones besides these! We have racecars, we have teddy bears, green ones, blue ones, even a cute Elmo one. He like this one. So much so it's beginning to get a hole in the toe where his big piggy is beginning to peek out from being worn so much and he's growing out of it already. I have looked around for a replacement, but I'll be darned if I can find another like it or where I even found it to begin with! ah well, gotta love kids andand their favorite things , no matter WHAT age they start at!

Thomas' Big Boy Bed
The time has come where Thomas needed To get his very own "Big Boy" bed Yes I know, he's only 18 months old, but, he can't sleep in the crib anymore- not the way he sleeps! this boy starts off in the normal sleeping posistion, then his head goes to the foot of the bead, then goes sideways, then head is at the top again, then all through the night he travels up and down and sideways. He does this until his feet finally get stuck inthe cribrails and in the middle of the night he's crying once again and we gotta get up and come to his rescue and free his foot or leg whichever is protruding through the rails.Sio in order to get a full nights rest for the wole family, we finally went out and got Thomas a Fire Engine toddler bed he like at the store. It's nice because it has high sides where he can't fall out, it has a night light and a cute friendly face, and rounded sides so he can't get hurt while playing on it and one cut out to get itn and out - its perfect! Thing is first few nights, Thomas fell out a couple times due to his way of sleeping - {how he fell out of the cut out ib beyond me }but we put one of his story books in the cutout after he went to bed and a pillow on the floor just in case and problem solved untilhe got used to the bed-didnt fallout anymore. He absolutely LOVES this bed! And sleeping? Sleeps all through the night, and so do we! Thank goodness! My little boy's growin up! *sniff*

Happy Birthday Thomas!
Saturday we celebrated Thomas' 1 year Birthday! We did it a couple days early because his birthday fell on a Tuesday this year so no biggie-close enough.. I can't believe My little boy's a year old already! Since he seems to be into Clifford the big red dog- He gets all excited when I put PBS on the T.V.- he stands right at the tv and practically hyperventilates when the show comes on it's so cute! I figured he has a thing for Clifford so I threw him a Clifford themed Party ! Clifford hats, and cake, and streamers, and blowouts, and balloons, cups, and plates- the whole nine! And to share it with Family, My sister in law Stephanie offered to have the party at her house - she has a house big enough to fit the whole family- I thought that was real nice of her. Thomas I don't think had a clue the party was actually for him, but boy did he DIG the cake !LOl forks? what's that? I'll just use my hands ! Everyone had a real nice time and we had great weather and everyone got to be together again since the Christening, Jackie brought Thomas' new cousin Dylan who is just adorable as can be! All the kids got along just great and got to leave with Clifford goodie buckets filled with toys. Can't forget the kids now! I try and think of everyone, not just the guest of honor! One year old . Where'd the time go? He's getting so big. MM Mmm MMM! My lil Chubster! He was so well behaved too! Like he knew he was around family and loved to be around family as much as I do !That's my Boy !:)

Thomas' Christening
My goodness the time flies! I know we should have had this done months ago,but there was the issue of me having sarcoidosis to deal with postpardum to get over with,-my legs and ankles blowing up like balloons all the way up to my knees where to the point I could barely walk, never mind barely carry a baby, going back and forth to doctors to have it taken care of to the point where it FINALLY went away thank Goodness. Now I can FINALLY baptize my son! We looked into a church here, but I really wanted my family at such a blessed event, so I managed to write to Tom's church In New Hyde Park and was able to pull some strings to have the church here in Centreville sign a transfer to be able to have Thomas baptized there in New Hyde Park. It was so nice seeing everyone again. We had such a nice time. And Thomas was soooo good! He barely even cried when the Holy water was poured on his head{and I believe I mentioned how he doesn't like water! }LOL Even at the reception he was a complete angel! Tom even gave him a taste of beer, and boy, I wish I got a shot for the camera- the look on his face of pure grossness at the tast of the beer! It was priceless! he was like "I'll stick with my milk thank you!" LOL it was so much fun - getting to see everyone in one location- I didn't want to leave or say goodbye to everyone because Lord knew when I'd see them again..:( But life has to go on.. I just thank God for blessing me with such a beautiful day -Cold , But beautiful and thank him for allowing me to share it with such wonderful family and friends that I am so blessed with.

Feeding Ourself Already??
There are so many things I can say about this little boy. He is smart, he loves to play, He loves to talk- - he yammers all day long to his little pals in his room -I can't describe how adorable it is.. I'll just stand in the doorway and watch him yammer away at his Looney Tunes mobile and he'll screech away and coo in delight its so adorable! But getting back to the case at hand-This boy already knows how to feed himself! he's only 6 months old! - I don't know if that's developmentally right on, But I am impressed! I am so proud of him! He makes a bit of a mess, but so what! he's a baby! I just give him the spoon, and show him how to scoop, and he'll scoop it into his mouth! And uses the sippy cup too! What a big boy! I feel so proud! And that big toothless grin!! Oh you just wanna squeeze those cheeks! He's such a lil meatball! How did I end up with such an adorable lil boy?? God really did bless me!My goodness I really can't describe how I love this little boy!

Time to Sleep
One thing I do have to say about having a new baby in the house is the one thing I learned real quick is when HE sleeps - YOU sleep! Boy can he wear you out! You learn that those precious 8 hour non stop sleeping nights? GONNE! 3 hours sleep then 4 hours up, sleep, then awake off then on, then sleep? whats that? then You and your spouse turn to rock paper scissors of who's turn it is to get up and help the baby!So then when the baby decides he wants a nap, we decide we better take one too while the gettin's good! {again rock paper scissors! }Lordy Lordy wha'd we get ourselves into? I know- just the most sweetest thing on earth that I'd travel to the moon and back for in a heartbeat! That's what! :)

Thomas' First Bath
Aside from getting little wipe downs from baby wipes, today we got our first bath! Oh boy he did not like that!! LOL I got a little Winnie the Pooh toy that cheers Thomas up that he seems to like and likes to touch, so I put it in the little tub we bought to bathe him in-I used the little thermometer-measured not too hot and not too cold, put all my supplies I needed in reach just like a responsible mom should do { actually Tom was there for me to get the stuff because I needed both hands to hold Thomas up and wash him at the same time- {it was in reach , I just couldn't reach out and hold and bathe Thomas at the same time- that would require skills a new mom like myself just didn't have yet to be perfectly honest!}How did it go do you ask? I think he screamed and cried as loud as when he got circumcised! and I heard him all the way down the hall at the hospital!I was like " yup! that's my son!" I tell you one thing, this kid, has got some PIPES!When he opens his mouth to cry? LOOOOKOUT! He just lets it fly!!!And there's no consoling him! He'll just cry and cry you'd think he was being murdered! He does not like water. But he's gotta get clean so we'll just make it a quickie. Then some lotion, and some powder and a dry diapie , and we'll be all good. But my goodness! the fuss he puts up what a first picture this'll make- the puss on his face!LOL! Oh well. It'll make a good story for later on.Maybe he'll grow out of it and learn to like baths. After all- he DID spend 9 MONTHS in liquid no? You think he'd be totally used to it by now....like second nature..ahh well lets see what the future brings..

Welcome Thomas Edward !!
So here I am In the Labor and delivery room, ready to get the show on the road. The nurse asks me if "I would like something to take the edge off'' which anything to stop this constant stabbing and slicing in my back , Hook me up!!Little did I realize that this medication, combined with my seizure meds got me instantly stoned in 10 seconds...then they decided to give me pitocin to speed up the contractions{ I personally felt they were coming along just fine-!}where all my lamaze breathing and classes went right out the window after that- for my contractions came on every ten seconds where I couldn't breath or get any oxygen to my brain after that which probably brought on my furture seizures that i had later on!, I don't remember a thing I felt so stoned! I was like a drunken sailor trying to push according to my husband, I hit on the anesthesiologist and called him sexy,I told my ob thank god you finally showed when she was there for 3 hrs already, I wound up having a seizure on the table, which My O/B says to Tom " what do I do?" he said " what do you mean what do you do?You know she has a seizure disorder,.." I'm sure he wanted to damn near knock her out if she wasn't delivering his first born son! Oh he was upset! They gave me valium, which didnt work, then phenobarbitol, and I finally stopped. They had to try to move the baby over since he wasnt aligned with the birth canal by pushing on my side, then trying vaccuum suction twice since he wasnt all the way down to the birth canal. That popped off twice and showered everyone with blood,{meanwhile im out cold} the baby went into duress and they finally performed a cesarian c- section on me after doin an episiotomy which I was told I sat up and cried "NOO!" to try and make the opening bigger which he never came out of! So I was sliced, Diced, and Thomas Edward was finally born lethargig due to all the drugs in me from pregnancy-due to my seizure condition that I couldn't go off my meds{ I wonder if anyone gave it any thought that the drugs they poured in me during delivery also went through him as well temporarily} and had very poor appetite and needed to go home with a feeding tube down his nose due to poor appetite- he would just barely take two ounces- the Hospital wouldn't send him home unless he took two ounces .-He just barely did- and we could take it from there]. He spent 2 weeks in the NICU while I spent 3 days passed out cold in recovery from all the meds in my system and finally got to see my baby boy when he was 3 days old in the NICU. I am proud to say he is the most beautiful gift of life I have ever laid my eyes on and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! Thank You Lord for blessing me with such a beautiful and healthy little boy!
