Mommy's Shoes

While reading my mail this morning I was disrupted to hear a loud CLOK! CLOK! CLOK! CLOK! CLOK! CLOK!! And look up to see Thomas coming across the room clomping around in my shoes again- this time I finally got it on film! What is it about little ones and wearing their parents shoes that makes them so cute? He did a darn good job walking around in my 3 inch heels for a such a lil guy! When he put my boots on, he had some problems standing up which was quite comical I have to say... It was one of those things where you just had to be there-...he grabbed onto the wall and hoisted himself up and wobbled back and forth like he had too much to drink and finally stabilized himself with no help at all after I offered - so I grabbed my camera and took the shot from the bathroom floor while he bravely let go of the wall for a minute or two before trying to walk but then collapsing by the closet door- was too funny -I think he laughed more than I did - we took them off in fear he was gonna kill himself! I must admit, the shoes didnt exactly go with the lizard jammies, but hey, I dont think he was going for fashion... here's my high heeled nutjob..

He Finally Did It!

Well I never thought the day would come when he would finally crack and give in, but today he must have just woke up on the right side of the bed! He woke up, was all cheery, said "good morning mommy!"" in a the sweetest tune. Asked for his vitamin, and breakfast bar, and milk as he does every morning, watched his "Higgly Town Heroes then half an hour later, he says , "oop! My has to go tinkles! " So I say {almost knowing the response is going to be his normal "NOOOOO!!!!"} Hey, why don't we try and go pee- pee like daddy this morning standing up? I'll help you -it's real easy-i'll be right there to help you if you need me.." and awaiting my response wincing, he says "ohh kayy!!" and runs off to the bathroom! ok am I dreaming? who are you and whad you do with my son? so I grab the moment while I can and follow him into the bathroom and since he's cutting off the circulation to his "best friend" I tell him" sweety, easy does it, and tell him gentle , and relax, and as he was pinning himself against the bowl,he started peeing! WHOOHOOO!! he let go for a minute and I was like "whoa cowboy! gotta hold onto him otherwise we all get a bath!" LOL . and we made a deal that each time he goes standing up, he gets a sticker. And Thomas earned himself Three stickers today! {woulda been four, but he cheated and used the potty seat one time so it didnt count} But I gave him tons of hugs and kisses and encouragement each time and told him how proud I was of him and what a big boy he was and before we knew it we wouldnt even be using that ol potty seat anymore! The sticker method really seems to work - he feels a deep sense of pride and accomplishment- - I used it when I was potty training him- each time he went potty, he got a sticker, and went he went poop, he got a special one, and since I put it in a notebook, he can go back and see his accomplishment and be proud of how far hes come like a morale booster-I think he'll have this "standing up" method down pat in no time with his sticker method with the way he loves stickers! I'm so proud of him I can't tell ya ! I just thought I'd share my lil Monkey's success story of the day with Y'all!

Please Come Home Safely!

Ok, Tonight Tom is supposed to come home from his business trip from Virginia. He's tired, He misses us, and he's got a killer of a toothache going on! The kicker is, He can't seem to leave the airport!!He boarded his plane at 5:30, sat in it for an hour, then had to get off because there was a tornado at the airport, and they had to go inside. Then at 7 they boarded again ,and at 8 he just called me and said hes STILL sitting at the gate IN the plane!! They havent even taken off yet!- there's lightning going on and theyre afraid of some hail that might be forming -and hes got a horrible toothache and his aspirin is wearing off- the poor thing just wants to come home!I swear if he doesn't escape the backlash or leftover rain and winds from Hurricane Ivan from here from when he left on Wednesday which had me nervous as can be with him flying over it to get there, now he's leaving and Ivan is there and won't go away and he's dealing with the storm anyway! Ohh I hope my honey will finally get home safe and sound tonight! I don't care what time he gets in, as long as he gets in - safely! *biting nails and praying like a madwoman*

Finally Friends

Well, after much yelling and kicking him out of his room the past month and a half from Kota trying to eat Thomas' toys and making on his rug, it looks like they're FINALLY friends! Now Thomas WANTS Kota in his room and locks the door, and I hear him playing with and talking to Kota behind the door. It's sooo sweet! I'm on the other side like awwwwww! I wish I could slide a microphone under the door and record what he says its so sweet! Like "you can play with that toy Kota, but don't eat it ok? cause that toy Ashley gave me and mommy said you have to go outside" or " you stay there, I be right back." I go get your teddy bear to chew on ok?" Im like awww! Now he chewed a piece out of the rug,and Tom is pissed and wants the dog out side until he comes home at night- but Thomas gets so lonely during the day- maybe if we keep a better eye on him,I ll sneak him in for a lil bit..whadda ya think?anyway-heres some pics of the two of them hangin together- finally friends...

Happy 4th Anniversary To Us!

Well, today marks four years that Tom and I have been married. Although he likes to bust my chops and say it seems more like eight- {because we lived together for four so maybe he's not too far off!} time just seemed like it flew by! In those four years, we've gotten pregnant, gotten married, had to make a life or death decision ,had a beautiful baby boy,put a down payment on a house, saw the construction was terrrible, gotten moneyback, lived in two diff apt complexes, then purchased a real house{this one} made a deal w/ FIL to live in it 'till we were ready to move down again, {which BTW was the worst mistake we could have made because all he ever did was cause trouble for the rest of the family and they would call us up and complain like kids running to their mother or father-{oh the headaches!} Then DH got a job offer to work from home{ocassionally it seems} but get the pay of up north-heaven sent-and kicked dear ol dad out on his patootie and moved down here to Florida and finally moved into a house like I always wanted with a backyard for Thomas and future swingset, and dog and friends the whole nine.speaking of friends, Our best friends who got married a year after we did, also are very close in anniversary dates {they're Aug.11th}, So Stacey{the wife} and I are conspiring to send our DH'S on a chartered fishing trip for a day for a combined anniversary present to our special men. Ever since we moved down here, the two of them have been trying to go fishing together but with conflicting schedules{he's a head cook at a restaurant, and weekends are really hard to get off for him, if anything he usually has to pull doubles, and has days off and watches his two little girls- {2 1/2 and 10 mos.} and Tom has to work days but can get the evenings off and weekends off-see where its rough? So we figured {Stacey and I} as anniversary presents to our men,we'd send them on offshore chartered fishing trip for a day - they have no idea about it. She's just gonna tell him to go into work late one Saturday{since the boat gets back by 5 and he would have to be at work by 6-kind tight- She said she thinks they'll get along w/o him for an hour while he cleans up and gets to work.and as far as us, Thomas will get to play with Ashley for a day And Stacey and I will get to reminisce on what our husbands have put us through for the past four years {or in her case three} I kinda felt bad for DH last night ;he and Shane {Stacey's DH} were gonna go fishing and DH was so excited he was finally gonna go , he got all his fishing stuff out of the garage and packed his tackle box, and at the last minute, Shane said it was raining by him and they weren't gonna go. DH was sooo dissapointed. So he went over their house around 7 and played Xbox with him till 11 instead. I tell ya he's gonna enjoy this fishing trip after seeing the dissapointment on his face like that!

Our Day At The Beach

Just thought I'd share some pics I took of when Tom and Thomas and I went to Sharkstooth Beach on Sunday-I finally got to upload the pictures tonite- the weather was soo nice and the water was like a bathtub! We really scored on finding teeth too! we always look for white ones, but I recently found out why I keep only finding black ones- its because they are tossed and washed and roll around in the ocean for so long that they are anywhere from one to two MILLION years old! can you believe that?! That blew me away! I was like WOW! Anyway, Here's the boys... here's them walkin together to find a spot.. Then Thomas By the water...Then Thomas searching for sharksteeth I cant remember how long they were in the water, but i know it was a looong time! They just wash up on the beach and we pick them up and put them in a jar! [IMG]And heres our score on sharksteeth!

Do I have a WHAT??!!

Last night as I was getting Thomas ready to take a bath, he comes out with this question that I was TOTALLY unprepared for! Now I kept telling myself "He's just turned 3 1/2 he's too young to know these things. or is he? "Is he? Ugh! I guess it was gonna come up sometime! Anyway, I'm undressing him, {or helping him anyway as he likes to be Mr. Independent lately}, He comes out of nowhere and says "Do you have a pee-pee?" I stammered and was like "what?"
he repeated " Do you have a pee-pee?" So I maturely and calmly said " no honey I don't". And before I could ask where he learned that, he says " Am I a boy?" I said "yes, yes you are".and he said "And you a girl" and I said "Right, yes I am." and he said "And daddy a Boy?" I said "yes, daddy's a boy too, just like you.' he says " And Daddy has a pee- pee just like me!" " I said "that's right"All the while I was trying to figure out how he had learned this on his own! I'm sure Playhouse Disney doesn't have a sex ed program that I'm aware of! When I told Tom about what he said, he didn't help- all he said was"that's my boy!" This ain't "married with children"here! oh boy and the obsession of getting him to stop playing with it is impossible.I'd throw in the towel but I'm too stubborn. I make him sleep with underwear on so he can't get that much access to it.ESPESCIALLY if he sleeps over someones house.anyway, What happened to my little boy! we're not supposed to be talking about pee-pee's yet! he's too innocent! All I keep thinking of is that movie Kindergarten Cop with Arnold Schwarzenegger with the one kid that says " boys have a penis and girls have a vagina"- I can just see my son doing that in preschool! I know I need to tell him at this age and which I have already done-{whether he remembers is another story} is appropriate touching and what is and not and if he ever feels uncomfortable about something that he can always tell mommy or daddy. But the whole sex and gender thing for some reason just totally threw me- I was just like No! No! NO! he's too little ! I want my little boy baaaack! Am I overreacting?
Probably am-He's just growing up soo fast! Where does the time go??

Thomas' First Sleepover Guest

Shane and Stacey had to rush their 8 month old Daughter Mya to the hospital because she kept up with a fever of 103 that just wouldn't go down and she wouldn't eat or drink so we had a little house guest recently. His older daughter Ashley who is a year younger than Thomas stayed with us so they could focus on getting the baby the medical attention she needed without any interruptions .These two make quite a pair!
They must have watched Brother Bear 5 times before going to bed!Thought I'd show some pics of Thomas' first boy/girl sleepover. These two had a blast I don't think they wanted their time together to end! Too Cute! She was really well behaved-I remembered when we vacationed in march,we stayed at their house, and she kept waking up every couple hours and we thought we were in for a heck of a night with the monitors and diaper changings, but actually between playing with the dog and thomas' toys she wore herself out and watching brother Bear she crashed on Thomas' rug- They both did-we just picked her up and put her in the guest bed and she slept like a rock till 6 am the next morning aside from a couple moans and groans during the night , she was a pleasure to have over.

Punk Shampoo 'Do

Anyone ever do this? Thomas and I were goofing around with the shampoo last night while taking a bath and washing his hair and decided hey why not go for the punk look?he's gonna get a haircut this weekend so decided one last chance to play around with the long locks. So we made it stick wayyyy up and I couldnt believe how long it stayed up that way!!! it stayed up that way the whole time he was in the tub which was like an hour! which was when I washed it out! That's some strong stuff! The last time I did that with a different shampoo, it drooped right over like a wilting lilly! Here's how it came out- was too much!---

Attention Envy

It appears with all the excitement with getting our new puppy lately that we named Kota, {would have been DA Kota}, { but Thomas couldn't seem to get the DA part out and could just say "Kota"} Thomas thought he would lure in some attention of his own by enclosing himself in in Kota's cage and not wanting to come out! To me, he looks like some jailbird, or is giving me new ideas for a timeout place! LOL J/K I would never cage my lil monkey! He DOES love to sit in there every chance he gets though! I don't know what all the fascination is really! Guess he likes to use it as some kind of fort - Nut Job!
